You will learn to recognise and sound out the letters s, a, and t — your first three reading letters!
🌟 Let's Start
Today is a very special day — you are going to learn your first letters for reading! We will start with three letters: s, a, and t. With just these three letters, you can already make a real word!
📚 New Concept
Letter s:
- Sound: /s/ — like a snake hissing: sssssss
- Shape: It looks like a curvy snake. Start at the top, curve left, then curve right.
- Words: sun, sit, sat
Letter a:
- Sound: /a/ — open your mouth wide: aaa (like the a in ant)
- Shape: Start with a small circle, then add a line going down on the right side.
- Words: ant, at, am
Letter t:
- Sound: /t/ — a short, sharp sound: t-t-t (tap your tongue behind your top teeth)
- Shape: Draw a line going down, then cross it near the top.
- Words: ten, tap, top
Your first word! Put them together: s-a-t → sat! "The girl sat on the chair." You just read your first word!
Also try: at (a-t) and as (a-s).
