Finding Fractions = Division

To find 1/4 of 20: divide 20 by 4 = 5

To find 1/5 of 30: divide 30 by 5 = 6

Finding Non-Unit Fractions

To find 3/4 of 20:

1. Find 1/4 of 20 = 5
2. Multiply by 3: 5 × 3 = 15

Examples

1/2 of 24 = 12

1/3 of 15 = 5

2/5 of 25 = 10
