🏪 Market Story
Amina's mother sends her to buy tomatoes. Two sellers offer different deals:
- Seller A: 5 tomatoes for ₦100
- Seller B: 8 tomatoes for ₦120
Which is the better deal? Amina needs to find the price per tomato for each seller.
📝 Let's Learn
To compare deals, find the price per item (unit price):
Seller A: ₦100 ÷ 5 = ₦20 per tomato.
Seller B: ₦120 ÷ 8 = ₦15 per tomato.
Seller B is cheaper per tomato! The difference: ₦20 − ₦15 = ₦5 cheaper per tomato.
Example 1: Shop A sells 3 pens for ₦45 (₦15 each). Shop B sells 5 pens for ₦60 (₦12 each). Shop B is cheaper by ₦3 per pen.
Example 2: Pack A: 4 biscuits for ₦40 (₦10 each). Pack B: 6 biscuits for ₦48 (₦8 each). Pack B is cheaper by ₦2 per biscuit.
