Dividing by 10 is the opposite of multiplying by 10. To multiply by 10, you add a zero. To divide by 10, you remove a zero.
- 10 ÷ 10 = 1
- 20 ÷ 10 = 2
- 30 ÷ 10 = 3
- 50 ÷ 10 = 5
- 100 ÷ 10 = 10
- 200 ÷ 10 = 20
- 500 ÷ 10 = 50
Example 1: 70 ÷ 10 = 7. Just remove the zero.
Example 2: ₦150 ÷ 10 = ₦15. Remove one zero.
Example 3: ₦1,000 ÷ 10 = ₦100. Remove one zero.
