🎯 What You'll Learn

You will learn what division means by sharing objects equally among people.

🏪 Market Story

Amina has 12 oranges and wants to share them equally among her 3 friends. She gives one orange to each friend, going round and round: "One for you, one for you, one for you..." until all the oranges are gone. Each friend gets 4 oranges. This is division!

📝 Let's Learn

Division means sharing things equally into groups. When we divide, we find out how many each person gets.

12 oranges ÷ 3 friends = 4 oranges each. We write: 12 ÷ 3 = 4.

The ÷ sign means "divided by." We say: "twelve divided by three equals four."

Example 1: 10 sweets shared among 2 children. 10 ÷ 2 = 5 sweets each.

Example 2: 15 pencils shared among 5 students. 15 ÷ 5 = 3 pencils each.

Example 3: ₦20 shared equally between 4 friends. ₦20 ÷ 4 = ₦5 each.
