🎯 What You'll Learn
You will practise solving word problems about buying things and receiving change at the market.
🏪 Market Story
Funke goes to Tejuosho Market with her mother. They buy fabric for ₦350 and pay with a ₦500 note. The fabric seller counts out the change: "₦350 plus ₦50 is ₦400, plus ₦100 is ₦500. Your change is ₦150." Funke checks: ₦500 − ₦350 = ₦150. Correct!
📝 Let's Learn
Change problems always follow the same pattern: Change = Money given − Total cost.
Example 1: Chidi buys a shirt for ₦280 and pays ₦300. Change: ₦300 − ₦280 = ₦20.
Example 2: Tunde buys food for ₦175 and pays ₦200. Change: ₦200 − ₦175 = ₦25. Count up: 175 + 25 = 200. Correct!
Example 3: Amina buys school supplies for ₦425 and pays ₦500. Change: ₦500 − ₦425 = ₦75. Count up: 425 + 75 = 500. Correct!
