🏪 Market Story

Emeka helps his uncle sell pure water at Mile 12 Market. A customer wants to buy a bag. Emeka's uncle says, "Count how many sachets are in that bag." Emeka counts carefully: 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. There are 20 sachets of pure water!

📝 Let's Learn

After 10, we keep counting: 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20.

Notice that these numbers all start with the sounds of the numbers you already know. Eleven, twelve are special words. Then thirteen, fourteen, fifteen — the "teen" part means "plus ten."

Example 1: Bola counts exercise books for her class: 1, 2, 3... all the way to 14. She has 14 exercise books.

Example 2: Chidi counts eggs in a crate row: 1, 2, 3... up to 18. There are 18 eggs in that row.

Example 3: Funke counts pure water sachets: She first counts 10, then counts 6 more. She says: "10... 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16." She has 16 sachets.
