🏪 Market Story

Chidi's father drives a keke (tricycle) in Aba. At the end of the day, he empties his pocket of ₦10 notes and asks Chidi to count them. Chidi lays them out and counts by tens: "₦10, ₦20, ₦30, ₦40, ₦50, ₦60, ₦70, ₦80, ₦90, ₦100." He counted 10 notes. "Papa, you have ₦100!" Chidi says.

Skip counting by 10s is the easiest skip counting pattern: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100.

Every number ends in 0. You just say the tens: ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety, one hundred.

Example 1: Count seven ₦10 notes: ₦10, ₦20, ₦30, ₦40, ₦50, ₦60, ₦70.

Example 2: Keep counting from 100: 110, 120, 130, 140, 150... the pattern never stops!

Example 3: Funke sees 12 piles of 10 oranges. She counts: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120. There are 120 oranges.
