🎯 What You'll Learn
You will learn tricky words — common words that do not follow the usual sound rules. You need to memorise them.
🌟 Let's Start
Most words can be sounded out letter by letter. But some words are tricky — they do not sound the way you expect! The word "the" does not sound like t-h-e. You just have to learn these words by looking at them again and again.
📚 New Concept
Tricky words (also called sight words) are words you must memorise because they cannot be easily sounded out:
- the — "Give me the book." (the most common word in English!)
- is — "He is a good boy."
- I — "I am happy." (always written as a capital letter)
- to — "I go to school."
- a — "I have a pen."
- was — "She was at home."
How to learn tricky words:
- Look at the word carefully.
- Say the word out loud.
- Cover the word with your hand.
- Write the word from memory.
- Check — did you get it right?
Practice sentences:
- "The cat is big."
- "I go to the market."
- "She was a kind girl."
🎮 Let's Practice
